All this got me thinking quite a bit which is unusual for a Saturday. Are we really descended from outer-space beings? IF God indeed created the universe and the heavens and all the stars within, as written down in the Book Of Genesis, why did he wait 150 million plus years for the Martians to become so ridiculously advanced but not sure with them his Commandments? Or did he? AND where does Yoda fits into all this?
Despite all the scientific advancements and breakthroughs of the past 50 years, humankind is really at the beginning of a new enlightenment. If we can already land a toy car on Mars, surely McDonald's will be selling Big Macs there in the not so distant future. Imagine when the first cosmonauts/spacewalkers do touch down on the red planet. This event will be the major pre-occupation all over Earth. Every day eery red photos would scream at us from the front page of newspapers, the study of science will see a new dawn, and every big big greedy business such as Haliburton will rub their greedy hands with glee at the thought of monopolising the exploration potential and keeping the spoils. Perhaps BP, if it's still solvent, could drill for Texas Tea....but by then (and it's still within reach of my lifetime), none of us will exist or perhaps we will in very different circumstances to now due to some silly person pushing a silly red button and blowing up half the world into smithereens.
Or perhaps humankind will indeed begin experiencing a new global environmental and spiritual consciousness such as that depicted in The Celestine Prophecy (James Redfield) and trundle off into another dimension as apparently the Mayans did....
Think I'll stay here for now.
